Focus! Focus! Focus! Focus on Work!

We live in a very distractive world. There are just too many distractions to do work without interruptions but that doesn’t mean you encourage everything that comes your way.

It can be frustrating at times and sometimes you don’t realize how much time has passed by [gone wasted] until you check the time and see that you have barley done anything! Thankfully there are a few simple ways to avoid distractions and to focus completely on your work. Read on.

No Internet

This is the first thing you should do because the Internet is the main culprit more often than not. Don’t check Twitter and Facebook or shop online or surf for something unless it is related to your work. Don’t do anything personal during office hours.

Schedule

A clearly defined routine will help you keep away from distractions. Plus, you will know what you should do and you will do so accordingly.

Be Prepared

This is in conjugation with the previous point. Schedule everything but always be prepared for any sudden meetings or emergencies.

Also, prepare for the following day before going to bed. Depending on what you have to do the next day, plan everything and prepare. For example, if you have a meeting, lay your dress out and then go to sleep. If you think it will rain in the morning, pack your umbrella already. These steps will avoid plenty of small but very annoying distractions.

Ultimately you will save plenty of time.

Be Structured

Stick to your office structure. Keep time aside for talking to your employees and interns if need be but lay out strict rules that you should not be disturbed while you are working unless it is urgent. Teach your team members to do the same and to concentrate on work during office hours.

Small steps to saving lots of time!

Entrepreneurial Learning

Cut out distractions from your life at least while you work. Focus on the tasks to be completed and keep away from personal life. Plan and be prepared so that even emergencies don’t hinder your progress.
